Barry has co-signed a letter to Matt Hancoc, the Health Secretary relating to the lack of testing and tracking in the social care sector.

The letter was initiated by Barry’s colleague, Paula Barker, MP for Liverpool Wavertee and can be read in full here.

In the letter we call for:

• Conduct testing and tracking of residents and staff in every care home across the country, prioritising those homes where an outbreak has been reported
• Ensure all care homes have the appropriate levels of PPE and stock levels are maintained
• Bereavement support and counselling is offered to staff members who are dealing with an unprecedented amount of end of life care
