Barry has co-signed a letter initiated by his colleague Siobhan McDonagh, which highlights the failings of the free school meal scheme.

It is worrying to see that:

• a third of schools are currently unregistered,
• hundreds of thousands of children are missing out on the free meals
• and not all supermarkets are included in the scheme (including aldi and lidl).
