Barry Gardiner MP If It Matters To You, Then It Matters To Him
Barry was very pleased to co-sign a letter with over 80 other colleagues to ask Matt Hancock, the Health Secretary to cancel the debt for new student nurses.
The letter was initiated by Luton North MP, Sarah Owen and states that over 5,000 students have signed up to paid placement, rearranging their studies in order to help on the frontline. Tragically, we have already seen that those on the frontline are risking their own health and in some cases losing their lives helping others with this virus.
By cancelling the debt it would show these student nurses how thankful we are for their service.
