Barry wrote to Rishi Sunak, the Chancellor of the Exchequer to take immediate steps to protect the UK’s 25,000 seafarers’ jobs.

Employers must be prevented from using this international crisis to enact permanent cuts which would cast thousands of UK seafarers into unemployment and cause severe long-term damage to coastal communities, our maritime supply chain and economic independence.
